Prime Wireless Pro Powered Speaker Pair

I recently purchased Prime Pinnacle Towers, Prime center and dual SB2000s so purchasing the wireless speakers for my workplace was a no brainer. The cabinet finish is outstanding, the connection options are especially welcome, especially if one or more options are not working, or available on your source. the wired output is simple and efficient. I am not new to SVS and have a PB12 Sub in my reference system which cost a little over 65k – I am only mentioning price because it is my point of reference in comparing what I purchased from SVS with Prime Wireless Pro – PWP.

Over the last couple of years, I have tolerated the sound of the sound bar, I had in the family room because it actually improved the quality of sound from the TV. However, the soundbar was never up to my standards, so the initial goal was to replace the soundbar to improve the setup in the family room for better sound with the TV and not install a full-blown Home Theatre.

In my reference system, it is so good that watching a movie with just my two front speakers in 2.1 stereo (default when I turn on Preamp) is so good that many times, I don’t even realize that I did not switch to 5.1. So, my goal was to use two channels with SVS in hope that I could get somewhat close to my reference system with just two channels and a SUB. Trust me, my expectations were not my reference system from anything I was looking at for 2.1, but to get a little of that room filling effect and little further from the speakers, so lower expectations.

As a current SVS sound products customer, I can say that the Prime Wireless Pro speakers for music are absolutely AMAZING! The amount of detail across all frequencies is astonishing for their size and power. All genres of music have been reproduced with great soundstage and minimal to nearly no distortion regardless of volume level.

While SVS does not market these as specific home theatre or soundbar alternative, their ability to be used as a 2-channel home theatre setup does exist.

I decided on these for our first floor family room which is in a large open concept modern home. Music listening was the first objective to this purchase and for that they deliver in spades! My only critique is for HDMI input. When connected to TV via HDMI Arc, the only input is PCM Digital and volume/output level drastically decreases. When listening to music they easily fill the first floor of my home which is a large home (3600 sq ft total). However, when playing through HDMI they barely fill the listening space and I notice the need to raise the volume to near max level to get full sound out of them.

All in all, phenomenal product but not a replacement for home theatre sound bar.
